What is the difference between a yard and a ton of gravel?

A cubic yard is a measure of volume (3ft x 3ft x 3ft). A ton is a measure of weight (2000 lbs). Because standard gravel is heavier than water, 1 cubic yard usually weighs about 1.4 to 1.5 tons.

Should I choose round stone or crushed stone?
